Dig in 'Nuestras Voces (Our Voices)'

Dive into the fascinating new magazine 'Nuestras Voces', a highlight of the Spanish course 'De la Palabra a la Prensa' during the winter semester 2023/2024. Read, enjoy and learn with us!

The magazine project was conceived as a course aimed at Spanish learning students who have reached advanced levels of the language. The intention was not only to provide them with the opportunity to practice and reinforce their writing skills in Spanish, but also to broaden their knowledge of the different types of texts present in the written media, while exploring different socio-cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world.

Thus, the idea arose to develop a complete project which is produced by the students themselves, going from the the textual production processes from the initial phase, to the creation of the first draft, all the way to the revision and designing the layout.

The finished magazine, entitled "Nuestras Voces" (Our Voices), was the result of considerable effort on the part of the students and their professor, Ana Gil López, who successfully guided them through the entire process of creation, production and revision. With great enthusiam the magazine’s launch took place on February 1st at the Language Center, during which the attendees had the opportunity to listen to the students and the teacher enthusiastically present the various sections of "Nuestras Voces", as well as explain the production and learning process.

This event, where you can listen to the students present their final product and have the opportunity to flip through its pages, enabled us to celebrate this great achievement together. We proudly presented the magazine to everyone, so that they can read it, enjoy it and learn from the voices of the Language Center Spanish students who participated in the writing course "De la palabra a la prensa" (From the Word to the Press). We hope that it will serve as an example for all students, demonstrating what they can achieve at the end of their semesters of learning Spanish, and that it will be an opportunity to read, enjoy and learn. Perhaps it may also inspire others to join "Nuestras Voces" and reach their Spanish learning goals.
