Bring your own device (BYOD): grammar and vocabulary activities for the language classroom

In this workshop, we’ll be taking a look at Kahoot! and Quizlet - two web-based tools which can be used to check learner understanding via BYOD classroom activities. We’ll be testing out and discussing their main functions in practical tasks and also investigating how learners can use them outside of the classroom for self-study purposes. By the end of the session, participants will have a clearer idea of the rationale behind Kahoot! and Quizlet as well as a basic grasp of their main features and functions. They should be ready to start experimenting with them in their own classrooms and will be prepared for and able to respond to any technical problems that may arise!

Please note that the workshop will be held in English, though the content is easily transferrable to other taught languages.
